Fired up for the marathon
December 16, 2007 • Andalucia • 1 Comments
FORMER fireman Tony Salter is stoking himself up for the challenge of a lifetime.
The Granada-based B&B owner has been spending hours training up for next year’s London marathon.
Salter, who moved to the village of Moclin four years ago, is raising money for The Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre (www.msrc.co.uk).
He was inspired to undertake the challenge by friend Denise Ross, also from Moclin, who has been living with MS since being diagnosed with the condition 17 years ago.
“Although I have always been quite fit, five miles was about my limit. Any more seemed like total madness,” says Tony.
“The last time I got any serious exercise was when I was training to be a fireman.”
Tony is holding a fundraising Hog Roast with live music on Saturday December 15 at El Meson Colo, Moclin, near Granada.

Extremely interesting site in an area where I would like to spend my holidays “Moclin”.
I understand our local politicians visit your area to build a trade arrangement for olives.
Do you happen to know our local Tameside Council politicians in Manchester, because it seems some Tamesiders are already living there.
