Rio’n’Roo’s Ibiza revels
May 20, 2008 • National News • 0 Comments
IT should be a quiet few days.
Wayne Rooney is to celebrate his stag weekend in Ibiza.
The England striker is bringing a dozen of the UK’s finest footballers for the bash early next month.
Organised by England captain Rio Ferdinand, a lot of the group will be staying in Spurs defender Jonathan Woodgates’s five-bedroom villa in the hills above Ibiza town.
As well as footballing mates Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher and Peter Crouch, boxer Ricky Hatton will also be in the party.
According to a source close to the group, they are likely to visit famous nightclubs Pacha and Space.
But because Rooney is not a big fan of clubbing and, in particular, dancing they will also be spending time at the trendy lounge-bar/restaurant Aura in the countryside near San Lorenzo.
“Peter Crouch and his girlfriend Abby were here last summer, along with Jade Jagger, James Blunt and lots of other celebrities,” said a source at the venue.
“We are expecting them to spend a bit of time here. The VIPs love the laid back atmosphere, and because we have some great music they can hang out until the early hours undisturbed.”
Rooney is to marry his childhood sweetheart Coleen McLoughlin in Italy on June 14.
