Cocaine haul foiled

A BRITISH man based on the Costa del Sol has admitted attempting to import 675 million euros of cocaine into the UK.

Christopher Wiggins, 42, – who was based at Mirador de Costalita, in Estepona – was arrested as he and two other Britons attempted to land 1.7 tonnes of the drug off Cork, in Ireland.

His 60-ft sailing boat Dances With Waves had been monitored for two months as it sailed from the UK, to Spain and then to South America.

He and his crew admitted to the intention to import the drugs at a trial in West Ireland.
