Spain rain frustrates Schumacher
January 14, 2010 • Andalucia, Cadiz, Lead2, Sport • 0 Comments
• Washed out: Jerez rainfall cut short Schumacher's test drive |
AFTER devastating homes and businesses the Andalucia downpours have now thwarted returning champion Michael Schumacher’s test drive.
The Mercedes driver only managed to complete 52 laps on his comeback at the Jerez test circuit before the heavens opened.
The seven-time world champion was driving a GP2 car ahead of his return behind the wheel of a Formula One car next month.
However, the German remained optimistic despite his early-season setback.
He explained: “I felt comfortable out on the track from the start.
“Despite the weather, all my senses were on full alert – this alone was worth it.”
