Family counts

YOUNGER siblings are getting a helping hand into schools from their elder brothers and sisters.

A new points system introduced in Spain means having a sibling already at the school in question counts more than proximity.

Those with siblings are awarded 13 points, while proximity ranges from six to ten points and parents working at the school counts for three points.

Parents wishing to register their children at school need to submit their forms by March 31.

Registration is only required for first-time school-goers or those changing schools.
