Holiday motorists will pay

HOLIDAY motorists are being cynically targeted with on-the-spot 500 euro fines.

Foreign holidaymakers caught speeding are being issued with the fines rather than being sent penalty notices.

In the speeding crackdown, traffic bosses have installed cameras which distinguish foreign number plates.

And rather than sending out notices which they know will not be paid, they immediately notify local police patrols.

Police in both the Alicante and Murcia areas then pull over the vehicle and issue the fines.
