A FATHER is appealing for information after his 15-year old daughter was brutally attacked outside an exclusive Marbella disco.

Nicole Zanlith was waiting for a taxi with a friend outside the Olivia Valere discotheque  when an argument broke out at around 7am.

She stepped in to defend her friend when the attackers turned on her, thrusting a bottle in her face and leaving her with six gashes on her forehead and one across her eye.

The six attackers left the scene on foot and the girl’s father, a Danish resident in Marbella, is offering a reward of €2000 for information leading to the arrest of the attackers.

Zanlith, who had been to see French DJ Bob Sinclair at the venue, has been left blind in one eye.

Her father can be contacted at mzanlith@gmail.com.

  1. Looking at the cellphone footage and listening to the tv interview in which the father, the nightclub owner and a witness, this whole thing stinks.
The scene takes place right outside a busy disco with loads of onlookers and only one comes forward as a witness!!! Only one helps the girl who has blood gushing out of her eye. What hope is there for a society in which anyone seeing this callous attack will be left sickened, but when it comes to speaking out and naming the culprits, silence.
The witness saw the only person trying to help the victim being told by the bouncers and later by the owner who drove by in her ferrari, not to get involved. I don’t know if the owners motivation is to protect one of her patrons, protect the reputation of her club, or whether she is just nasty, but give me a break.
The ambulance did not arrive until almost 90 minutes later.
We’re talking about Marbella and what was the most glamorous nightclub there, not some third world rat nest.
The club should get a good shakedown and the culprits will float to the surface. If the culprits are not caught we can all draw the conclusion that this is not incompetence, but corruption and cowardice. If you saw something, do the right thing and denounce the culprits.
    Spread the word.

  2. What sort of society has Europe become now? My wife and I are considering returning to South Africa where we can at least carry legal guns. We are betting that the scum that did this was not Spanish. It seems to be a common crime in the UK where many places are now selling drinks only in plastic cups/glasses. We wonder…..

  3. A disgusting pathetic attack on a young girl ( who has no business been at this type of club at 7 am ) I truly hope the police find the monsters who did this but with the influence this club owner has its doubtful……
    I

  4. Its is awful what had happened to this YOUNG GIRL !! She was only protecting her friend. In the same, I need to say WHERE ARE THE PARENTS !!
15 years old out IN MARBELLA AT 7AM AT A DISCOTEC !! Come on now !!
2000euros will not protect the KIDS out there, PARENTS PROTECT THEIR CHILDREN !!

  5. This is the real Marbella for you. the stuff you dont really read about in the paper…(normally)
15 or not, you cant really blame the parents. this is the way the coast works, and younger girls and boys do tend to go out now and always have done.. and sometimes the locals seem to stand there ground against suspected holidaymakers, thinking they are a step above the tourist… unfortunatly, tourist or local, there is always that one A****le who doesnt care about consequenses…
and maybe she even lied to them about her evenings whereabouts..
as an ex manager of bars and clubs in the marbella area (15 years) i have pretty much seen it all…
you can be bleeding to death and people will just walk by you. i have had to erase endless security cameras in bars and clubs, when the perpatrator is someone who will come back heavy handed and smash everything up if the police get hold of the cctv..
as for the owner of olivia.. well … a typical marbella woman with money… anyone who charges €20.00 for a bottle of water is just plain you know what…

  6. This is horrible for so many reasons.

Shame on the culprits and shame on the parents who let their 15 year old daughter go to a club AND stay there until 7am. You simply don’t let a 15 year old go to clubs and stay out all night. No excuses.

  7. My daughter was pushed outside a club and fell, resulting in the loss of a front tooth – bad enough and expensive to put right, but not as tragic as this incident. It turned out my daughter’s attacker was 15 and drunk. His parents promised to pay the medical bills in exchange for not being denounced, but they disappeared back to Ireland unsurprisingly. Isn’t it illegal for kids to be in nightclubs under the age of 18? I live on the coast, luckily I’ve managed to sell up and move into a more peaceful setting inland. Away from the idiots.Good luck to Ms Zanlith, and I’ll be telling everyone I know to give Marbella a wide berth.

  8. The foul stench of cowardice, corruption and criminality now hangs over Marbella, centred on the ‘exclusive’ dives that thrive on such as this poor child.
And who are these perverted, mad-dogs who would deliberately attack a child with a broken bottle? God only knows how their wives and must children suffer; that is if any of these creeps are man enough to have a family.
I urge all club-goers to boycott these discos for ever. Or at least until a fresh breeze blows away the foul stench.

  9. Serveral issues here!
    1) so sorry for the young girl….didnt deserve that.

    2) Parents what was she there at this time and not only that at this club what about the laws on underage drinking?

    3) People come forward if you have seen anything there are various ways you can contact the police !

    4) ALL the clubs in marbella should have ID checks yes you seam to like haveing bouncers. we know its bad for buisness but so is incidents like this! If you get stopped by the police you have to carry ID…. well no excuse for the club owners check the ages..

and might be an idea to legislate the bouncers many of whom have questionable backgrounds.

  10. First of all don’t blame the parents, they might not have known she was there. And yes bouncers should id people or at least take care of a problem that happens outside in a result of letting under aged in.instead Of standing by and watching it happen! The person who did this needs to face up for what they have done. And be locked up like an animal. This girl is a friend of mine and I hope they catch who has done this!!!

  11. Ellie-Jo: “First of all don’t blame the parents, they might not have known she was there”.

What kind of stupid remark is this !!! Might ?? No 1 of this age should be outside, especially by going out ! Is is the 1st time she went out ? I think NOT. You are not a parent yet yourself, so you cannot state that this is NORMAL. A good parent, especially when you have a daughter yourself, should be extra cautious and alert. A good parenting is to take all responsibilities for your children and to KNOW what is advisable to do or not. This remark is plain stupid. And if there parents MIGHT don’t know, it IS a part of how she is grown up by her parents. There is no NEEED to go out if there parents give your children whatever they need what they like to prevent by going out… alone, or with her boyfriend. I have a daughter of 10 years old, and even when she is 18, she doesn’t need and… want to go out with ‘girlfriends’ and going out to bars. Even my son of 23 only goes out to a movie with his friend and turns back home. He has everything he wants and… Drinking and hanging out on bars is Not what he likes. And THAT is how it should… BE.
There is NO necessity to go… OUT, especially to go out and… DRINK, and to go… OUT with a (minor?) boyfriend. And if the parents DON’T know that, it means she got raised without good control of her parents. You even mention the word “MIGHT”, so you even don’t know YOURSELF the inside out ! JUST PLAIN STUPID AND TYPICAL… MINOR TALK !!!!!!!!

  12. 1 under aged girl
2 at this club there is not good security on the parking only guys who want to take tips from car drivers
3 (groups of) people should not hang around on the parking and certainly not with bottles.
4 parking should have good cctv system
5 in such emergency situation the ambulance should be there in a minute.
6 at least the club needs to have one person who is trained first aid.

And final most fights start inside and finish outside this is a matter of club security, to registrate and to take care that matters don’t end up outside.

    With regards
Former club owner in Eastern Europe

  13. @unbelievable:

Nothing so nice as cocksure sanctimoniousness and the absolute certainty one is right without any knowledge of things.

I had a brother who snuck out at night for years and nobody knew. He was raised right, taught everything right (four siblings never did what he did), yet still was involved in vandalism and other activities. It’s all nice and good to claim its the parents’ fault, but you know *nothing* of the family circumstances and what has gone on. But casting the first stone (at a family that has been devastated) in the certainty of your own goodness does feel good.

I just hope you never have to experience something like this first hand to learn that your certain view of the world may not be right after all.

  14. Facts are. If we follow the rules. Like no drinking under 18. As that is the law! And clubs such s marbella famous name. Stop allowing younger under 18s in. Pure and simple fact its not good for business simple s that! Anybody who has been here for years knows that you can pay for licences amd yes it still goes on. There are rulea and regulations but we that is the general public choose to ignor them. Does any one think a club for under 18s would be good! Problem is its not cool kids of15 ,16 17 think they are adults simple as.
