EXCLUSIVE: New leads in the search for missing teenager Amy Fitzpatrick

Missing Amy

DETECTIVES are set to scour a remote hillside for the body of missing Amy Fitzpatrick, the Olive Press can reveal.

The area of wasteland, not far from the home of the teenager on the Costa del Sol, is likely to be searched in the next few days.

It comes after Amy’s aunt in Ireland Christine Kenny received an anonymous tip off about where her niece ‘had been buried’, following her disappearance on New Year’s Day 2008.

“It was very very precise and came from a lady in Ireland,” she told the Olive Press.

“She refused to give her name and withheld her number, but she was quite certain.

“She said you are the person I need to give this message to and she told me the spot that Amy is buried. She said she had known about it for some time.

“She was roaring and crying on the phone. In fact, she was blabbing.”

Kenny, who is close to Amy’s father Christopher, added: “The Gardai and Guardia Civil are both now involved and I have been told not to give away the exact spot.

“But I can tell you it is not far from where she lived.”

Amy had gone missing from her home in Riviera del Sol, near Calahonda, after a night out with friends nearby.

As the Olive Press revealed at the time, the 15-year-old had been unhappy and was not getting on with her mother or stepfather Dave Mahon, a local estate agent.

She had not been attending school and sources revealed she had even sometimes slept rough in a nearby park.

Despite nationwide and global appeals from both sides of the family, she has not been found.

Added her aunt: “I really hope they start searching now and that they get there in time before anything is moved.”

The news comes as it emerges that the mother of Amy and her partner Mahon have been living on the Costa del Sol for the last month.

Killing

This is despite Mahon being expected to be charged over the death of Amy’s brother Dean last year.

An inquest into the killing outside Mahon’s Dublin flat has been postponed until March 14.

He has admitted to stabbing Dean, but claims it was in self-defence. He has not yet been charged.

Olive Press sources reveal that the pair have been drinking regularly at a string of bars near the Los Jarales camp site, in Calahonda.

They have been seen a number of times at Los Ktetos and have a new puppy.

Mahon recently told the Irish Press the reason for the break was to help nurse Audrey back to full health. “She is physically and mentally exhausted” he said.

As we went to press, it was reported that Audrey needs an urgent liver transplant and had been rushed to the Costa del Sol hospital for tests. Doctors reported that her enzyme count was 2,750 – more than 100 times the normal level.

  1. “The pair have been seen drinking regularly at a string of bars…” – and meanwhile over in Ireland the pair are “selling” the story that Audrey needs a new liver? Convenient “sob story” just as the DPP is about to decide whether to press charges for Mahon’s murder of Audrey’s son?! This pair are toxic – very strange situation! Two young lives gone in their custody!

  2. Nothing strange here gold star , the answer is as plain as the nose on your face .I cannot believe they can live free and I cannot understand how that woman can live with the man who allegedly murdered her son. New liver …. Lol ……. How about she gets a heart because to my mind hasn’t got one

  3. Saw him in Cabopino on January 1st,(anniversary of Amy’s disappearance) off his face, not a care in the world, she was nowhere to be seen. He was enjoying the music, tapping his foot, making snide comments to the equally as drunk entertainer(if you can call him that)no walking stick to be seen when he stood up to go to the bar, yes, the walking stick he has been using in Ireland in every single picture of him, he has this walking stick in his hand, due to the hip replacement he so desperately needs,(another scam) he looked totally capable of walking unaided, and in fact, he had a little dance to the music, no walking stick at all! There is no justice……

  4. yes i totally agree with PM, funny at this time they are in spain when a new lead has turned up. I have always believed it has something to do with ‘Dave Mahon’ whether Audrey is involved or not, she is disgraceful for staying with the man who killed her son which in my opinion wouldn’t have been self defence, there are too many things that don’t add up when it comes to Dave! I think more than a few people think he’s involved! and the police need to be quick on their feet and get to the body before someone else does!!

  5. Of interest is that the pair of them (well, more him than her – cause he always talks more) have banged on and on about how much money they have lost (nothing to do with the property crash, of course!) in looking for Amy. Since back in Ireland they said they are barely surviving on Social Welfare payments that “we” the tax payers are paying here in Ireland. My question is, eh, how come they can afford a nice Sojourn in Spain?? Was Audrey back to “Sign On” for Social Welfare purposes and take in Deans first Inquest hearing while she happened to be in Ireland? I wish I didn’t have to work for a living and could party away in Spain on Welfare payments, ……”

  6. @GOLDSTAR TOTALLY AGREE . YOU NOTICE THEY NEVER ISSUE ACCOUNTS FOR THE MONEY THEY COLLECTED BEFORE ANY ONE REALISED WHAT WAS GOING ON ! I WONDER IF THIS MONEY WAS DECLARED TO THE TAX AUTHORITIES . ALSO THE BENEFITS IN IRELAND MUST BE GOOD AND THE SYSTEM REALLY EASY IF YOU CAN POP OF TO SPAIN WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE IT .

THEY DONT CARE FOR ANYONE BUT THEMSELVES .

TELL THE TRUTH AND SHAME THE DEVIL IN YOU BOTH

  7. What ever came of this search?

This whole story is VERY strange! Because of Amy’s mobile phone being in the Mother’s possession after New Year’s, perhaps there was an altercation? And it is very strange that she could forgive her partner for killing her only other child, her son! Why is there no investigations going on? Are Irish Authorities blind to the very suspicious circumstances surrounding this disappearance?

  8. This whole story baffles me, I have recently just read that amy’s mobile phone was stolen from her lawyers office along with a laptop and other documentation related to her search.

After living on coast for over 20years I served this pair daily in a local bar I used to work at! And I can say that 3day after this young girls disappearance they both sat drinking in the bar!

Also after reading another story saying she was possibly part of a sex ring! This also wouldn’t have surprised me with the nature of the people who live on the coast! Drugs dealers, gángsters, mafia people on the run just to name a few!
I feel for Amy’s friends and family, and wish them closure! Hopefully she is found soon!

  9. I also worked in bar on calahonda and served both drinks most days, after hearing bad things about dave and knowing amy hated him and wanted to be back home with her real dad she stayed at mine a few times I left to return home in november saying goodbye but sure to be back after xmas only to hear this devastating news a few weeks later , when I returned in june with a freind for a holiday I was speechless to also find the couple out drinking with freinds, my gutt instinct was right all along hope they find amy so she can finally rip, miss u baby girl always thinking of u xxxxxxxx
