DAVE MAHON has vowed to fight the murder charge that he is expected to receive tomorrow morning.

He has returned to Ireland after being asked by the Gardai to face the charge over his stepson Dean Fitzpatrick’s death in May last year.

Dean, a father himself, died from a stab wound sustained during an altercation with Mahon in his Dublin flat, allegedly after confronting him over the disappearance of his sister Amy on New Year’s Day 2008.

Mahon told ‘The Irish Star’ that he had hoped to be charged with manslaughter and has previously claimed he only killed Dean in ‘self-defence’.

“I’m not guilty of murder, not murder, Jesus no,” he said.

“I would prefer if it was manslaughter, but it is up to the jury. It was a terrible accident.”

Upon handing himself in, Mahon will be taken into custody and most likely held at Cloverhill remand prison in Dublin.

“I am still in a state of shock,” he added. “Do you know when it will sink in? When I am in my prison cell.”

Audrey, who will die if she does not receive a liver transplant, has remained in Spain due to the couple’s alleged poor finances.

This follows the Olive Press’ exclusive new sensational evidence regarding  the night of Amy’s disappearance and where she may be buried.

  1. If the star is correct well you don’t get charged with murder for no reason.
How can his family and the mother of dean and amy stand by the man?
I have a growing concern with the star reporter and
    professionalism and friendship.
It is my opinion a line has been crossed and serious questions need to be asked about his friendship with mahon.

This guy still believes he will walk and give the system and the fitzpatrick family the two fingers.

Now he intends to make the family suffer even more by dragging them into the courts to hear the gory details of dean fitzpatricks last moments.

By god he has made that family suffer!

  2. The whole story is a joke here in Dublin – there’s more reported on The Olive Press than in any newspaper here. The story of a suspected burial ground with Amy within has not been reported here?

There is something very wrong with this whole story – Amy/Dean’s ‘mother’ and the mobile phone, Mahon’s supposed disability with walking stick (when it suits him) and Amy/Dean’s mother forgiving him so quickly? Very, very strange …..! The trial should be interesting, but we’ll all never forget the poor kids who have suffered in the ‘care’ of this Mother! My thoughts and support are with the biological father and Christine Kenny at this time – keep up the fight! And thoughts always to Dean’s partner and his son! x
