THE jury in the trial of celebrity publicist Max Clifford has reconvened to deliver its verdict.

Judge Anthony Leonard told them yesterday afternoon that he will now accept a majority verdict of nine to one if they cannot reach a unanimous verdict.

Clifford, a Costa del Sol regular, denies 11 counts of indecent assault between 1966 and 1984 in the UK.

The allegations made against the 70-year-old relate to seven alleged victims aged between 14 and 19.

Over the past six days, the jury has spent approximately 23 hours deliberating their verdicts on Clifford.

He was first arrested in December 2012 as part of the Operation Yewtree inquiry and was charged last April.

  1. So it’s a ten man jury ? What happened to the missing members and why are the cps so keen on these cases after the years they spent covering it up ? We Brits do not like a witchunt I personally note that situations in the 70s cannot be successfully tried in the u.k on today’s non sexist attitudes .
I was a teenager in the 80s and fully accept that what happened in relation to the “casting couch”would not be acceptable now , but it was then by all parties concerned . Indeed as a former model us girls used it to our advantage .

Hard hat at the ready here guys

  2. Absolutely about paedophilia in many cases. And specifically because of that, I believe that prosecuting historical cases sends messages to past, present and future perpetrators that at last, this crime is in every way, unacceptable. And that there is no time limit on these crimes. Old age is not a refuge for the bestial.
