TODAY Princess Cristina officially appealed all tax fraud and money-laundering charges against her.

She maintains that she had no knowledge that her husband had been laundering money, a position she has held since February.

Her husband Inaki Urdangarin, the Duke of Palma de Mallorca, has been accused of stealing tax money from regional governments through not-for-profit company Noos, which overcharged for organising sporting events. The money then went to Aizoon, the company she and her husband co-own.

While Palma de Mallorca’s investigating judge Jose Castro says that the princess could not have been ignorant to her husband and company’s activities, her lawyer Miquel Roca emphasized his “absolute conviction” in Cristina’s innocence.

If found guilty, the princess could face up to an 11-year prison sentence.

  1. Being a director of a company that one knows nothing about sounds pretty dodgy to begin with. The NOOse is tightening but I doubt highly that she’ll ever serve any time. The sooner Spain gets rid of these parasites the better.

  2. Not doubt when using the word “parasites”, for a member of the Spanish Royal family as an insult, we have to include other Royals like the British.
Or have some never heard of Robin Hood.
Or Royalty running around in the garden like Adam and Eve.
Or illegitimate child… the list is endless.
There is no need to centralise criticisms or insults to one Royal Family as there are plenty to chose from.

  3. @Spain, this is a Spanish blog (if you didn’t notice lol) and so I refer to the Spanish royal family primarily you appreciate, but yes I would like to see republics throughout the world. Btw “Robin Hood” figures are found in all cultures.

  4. @Spain, I can’t help it if you don’t understand modern technology. A blog is a chronological list of articles, like this website. Are you going to say that this is not a website next? lol. There are many news blogs that are not online newspapers. Go and do some Googling and learn.

Insulting is your interpretation btw. I meant parasitic as in living off others, which is essentially what royal families do to their subjects. It seems you need to get up to speed on a lot of things.

  5. I understand, but maybe you don’t.

And I’m not going to continue on with this ridicules and point less conversation.
Good luck with your sarcasm and insults.

By the way I haven’t even bother to read after the first sentence.
