THE new Guarantee of Youth Employment law offers stipends of €300 per month to any business that hires unemployed youth.
The government has allotted €1,800 million sent from Brussels to finance this program over the next two years. That adds up to €2,170 for every beneficiary.
The idea is that all eligible youths who apply will be guaranteed some sort of training, internship or job within 90 days.
In order to qualify, youths must be between the ages of 16 and 24 and have neither worked nor studied for four months.
Basically, a bribe.
I am guessing this is the one where you have to give them a two year contract and then only pay 100€ in social security each month rather than the normal 400 for what is in my type of work a 40 hour a week 1150€ monthly contract. I looked into to this and found out if you want to get rid of this member of staff before the 2 year period you would be charged the difference you have saved in social security which basically makes that member of staff untouchable when it comes to do a their job, nice job security that.

This latest 1.8bn will surely go the same way. The EU should have sorted that issue out first, before allocating more money to Spain. It all sounds like one big scam.

they should really wait till all the court cases finish before they throw more money at the problem

I often on this site give an opinion on the flawed labour laws and unemployment system here as there is a need for a major re haul.
One thing I have noticed while be updated by my accountant that all these incentives to get people back to work are geared towards those signing on. Of course this understandable as the huge unemployment payments are draining the country dry but what a lot of people won’t know is that the unemployment payments are for a limited time. Normally after 2 years and in a lot of cases less the payments stop and those people then receive nothing. surely incentives like the one in article above make it even more difficult for those who have nothing to find work as they are the ones who are really in need of help which is made even more difficult by these sort of ideas
