Costa del Sol coastal path connecting Nerja to Manilva will be ‘ready soon’

A NEW coastal path stretching all the way from Nerja to Manilva will be finished soon, according to the president of Malaga council, Elijah Bendodo.

The 184km route, suitable for pedestrians and cyclists, will consist of existing paths, roads and tracks as well as new additions.

Bendodo announced at a council meeting that the path will be completed this month, following many months of planning and design.

Any missing links are being constructed in connection with the relevant municipality.

Bendodo also announced plans to introduce free wifi to the town centres of 80 municipalities in Malaga province.

The €1.6 million project is set to be completed in six months time.

  1. Hmm, it’s currently impossible to even walk/cycle along Nerja’s own coastline on existing pathways. It’s a great idea but seems a bit far-fetched. Perhaps Senor Bendodo means that some parts of the “path” will made up from existing roads? Anyone seen any development? It’s being finished in 10 days lol.

  2. Typical Spanish political statement, it’s a good idea but miles (kilometers in this case) from the truth. Why do these people constantly come out with such BS, we are having the same problem in Fuengirola at the moment with phase 4 of the Paseo Maritimo. The mayor has had photo calls and press releases saying work will start in September and then November of this year yet the town hall cant tell the local business owners and residents nothing except they will be wasting money on a statue of a “espeto de sardinas”. All we want to know is what, when and how things will be happening is that really too much to ask?

  3. Nerja just vetoed its coastal walkway. Is that the same project? It seems there will be some “gaps” lol. Honestly, as mark says, it’s just a BS project. Spain can’t even repair existing pavements and roads and here they are with this daft idea.
