Spain’s Sergio Garcia has hit the shot of the morning – and an early contender for putt of the tournament – on the opening day of the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles.

Floundering in the bunker, Garcia stunned the Scottish crowd as he chipped in against the odds.
Garcia – paired with Rory McIlroy – lost their clash with American pair Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley in the morning’s fourballs.
