Parrot learns Spanish after going missing for four years

A MISSING parrot has been found after four years…and he’s picked up a Spanish accent.

Nigel – an African grey parrot – was living in Torrance, California, with his British owner Darren Chick, when he disappeared in 2010.

He was missing for so long he was given up as lost, until this week, when he has been returned to the delighted Chick.

In his four-year absence, however, the parrot has bizarrely swapped his perfect British accent for that of a Spanish native.

Rather than his traditional ‘Hello’, the bird now fires off a ‘¿Que pasa?’ to passersby.
