Tom PowellBRITISH detectives are heading back to Portugal this week to question several people over the disappearance of Madeleine McCann seven years ago.
They are travelling to the Algarve today to work on the case for three days.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood, who has been the head of ‘Operation Grange’ since it was set up in 2011, has announced he will step down before Christmas.
The Operation, ordered by UK Prime Minister David Cameron, began three years after Portuguese police closed their investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Wall will take over the inquiry on December 22.
Madeleine vanished from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz while her parents Gerry and Kate were eating at a nearby restaurant in May 2007.
Earlier this year, detectives returned to Portugal to interview several people over the case.
Surely they should be questioning the McCanns and their tapas bar friends?
