EVERYONE’S had a few too many lemonades and misplaced their phone at one time or another.

But spare a thought for 21-year-old Corey Pye, who received a massive €24,000 phone bill for an iPhone he lost while partying in Ibiza.

After five days on the Balearic island, Pye returned to his beloved Basingstoke where he was shocked to find the staggering phone bill.

He initially received a bill for €7,500 from Vodafone for which he took out a 36-month loan to pay-off. And even after cancelling his number he received a bill for a further €16,500.

He said: “It’s ruined my Christmas. I don’t know what to do. I was so shocked when I got the bill.

“I’m a young lad and this will be hanging over me for the rest of my life. I’m still paying off that six grand off.

“I shouldn’t be punished for the naivety of failing to report my mobile missing, or for the criminal acts of others who are the ones profiting from this.”

After weeks of desperately trying to resolve the situation and getting nowhere, a spokesman for Vodafone has finally confirmed Pye will only be held liable for €650, although he is yet to have anything confirmed.

  1. “They” Derek are probably the same filthy mob who attacked my wife and myself, ripping a chain from her neck, stamping on and breaking her foot, beating us for resisting and all in sight of a portable police unit on Plaza Real in Barcelona.
Despite it’s wonders, Barcelona has become a no-go area for sensible people.

  2. Why not print the whole paragraph LUISMI? It says: “the data shows that immigrants are overrepresented in the crime statistics – 70% of all crimes were committed by Spaniards” (source: Wikipedia).

Spanish statistics eh? I wonder how reliable when Spain just got around to releasing transparency statistics for the first time in their history lol.

  3. There has certainly been a rash of pretend Spaniards posting recently. All under the impression that if they make the odd spelling mistake it makes them appear foreign. They are fine at colloquial phrases though HaHa.
