Holidays for this year could cost half as much as 2014, with some airfares already slashed by half.
Spain is still the number one destination for Brits, according to Travel Supermarket, and Easter flights to Spain have already seen up to 50% discounts.
Bookings for tourists looking to soak up some sun in the new year have already begun, and travel industry experts say the discounts will cover the Easter and summer holidays too.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has said that the lower oil prices combined with stronger worldwide financial growth are the main reasons for the savings.
Joel Brandon-Bravo, UK managing director of Travelzoo, said: “With the low airfare prices we are seeing for the new year, early 2015 is set to kick off with some great travel offers.”
The airlines certainly have not yet given the slightest break in prices for transatlantic flights–so far, at least! I’m waiting…
