A FULL council meeting of the Ayuntamiento de Malaga has voted to ban animal circuses in the city.

And due to the public’s raised awareness of animal abuse issues they have also banned horse and pony attractions.

It follows the decision of Mijas town hall who last year said it would not allow horses or ponies to be used in fairground rides.

Mijas mayor Angel Nozal agreed to completely ban a so-called pony carousel after it was featured in the Olive Press and a petition with 65,000 signatures was delivered to the town hall.
