PP Secretary-general Maria Dolores de Cospedal is in hot water over revelations she failed to declare 12,000 metres-squared of land around her Toledo finca.
She lives in the farmhouse on the banks of the river Tagus, worth an estimated €2.5 million, with husband Ignacio Lopez del Hierro.
However, a mere 280 metres-squared of land is declared in her assets, less than a quarter of the estate.
Socialists have accused Cospedal of attempting to ‘shield her income and lifestyle’.
The PP has resolutely defended the listing, claiming the surrounding land has next to no value, as it is undeveloped.
The estate – named ‘Cigarral de la ermita’ – is half-owned by Cospedal, the other half belonging to Hilo Inversiones, a real estate group owned by her husband.
Why is this seen as income?
It’s potential FUTURE income when hubby can quietly gain PP for construction in that misty future building boom. If they have nothing to hide, why not simply declare it?
‘Massive’? It’s a little more than one hectare. In the countryside.
In that case Lenox, if it’s such a piddling little allotment, I repeat, why not declare it?
It’s “on the banks of the Tagus” her gaff is worth 2.5 million, imagine the value of that land if planning permission is gained.
Let’s agree with her PP’s statement, ” The PP has resolutely defended the listing, claiming the surrounding land has next to NO VALUE, as it is undeveloped.” So let’s ask her and husband to agree to DONATE this valueless land to CODECA or other charitable organization for ZERO value and NO tax deductions for the donors? Zero=zero, or why not?
