MEN in Malaga are the luckiest on the Costa del Sol, as the city records a disproportionate number of women.
Women outnumber their male counterparts by a total of 21,565 in the city, according to statistics published by the Junta.
There are a total of 566,913 residents in Malaga, of which 272,674 are male and 294,239 are female.
And the trend continues along the Costa del Sol.
In Marbella there are 4,151 more women than men while in Estepona women outnumber men by 382.
While the Olive Press investigate the unusual statistics, we’d love to hear your theories as to why this may be the case.

Perhaps families on the Costa are offering up their first-born males to the Sun god? That’s the only logical explanation I can think of. It does seem to be working.

Good odds for those men who need a wife, but I once went to Curitiba in Brazil, a City of nearly 2 million people (which many people have never heard of but a beautiful city with Portuguese architecture) where I was told women outnumbered men 5 to 1.

Sure they do.
But we are not talking about the kind of female that would make an ideal partner.
The older females live longer so we are talking about a bunch of 90 year old woman.
