DISGRACED singer Isabel Pantoja has been allowed to leave her prison cell in Sevilla.

Pantoja waved to dozens of journalists and cameramen as she began her four days of freedom.

The former partner of ex-Marbella mayor Julian Munoz, Pantoja is a quarter of the way through a two year prison sentence.

She was found guilty of assisting Munoz’s money laundering scheme while he was in office in Marbella.

Rewarded for her ‘good conduct’ while in the prison facility, Pantajo was granted a four-day bail period by a judge.

  1. Spanish prisons have a system of “grades” earned by keeping a clean nose. When a certain grade is reached, weekends and up to five days a month conditional release is granted. It’s a sort of home leave to test if one is fit to be out on the street, gradually easing prisoners back into society. It is probably because this person is well-known that a media fuss was made.
Compared to other aspects of Spanish society, the penal system is surprisingly enlightened.

  2. That’s the way it works Jacko. You’ve seen the depiction of Justice with the scales and blindfold?…..
Plus of course, prisoners cost about a grand a week to keep banged up. Real justice would be served by ensuring these dead-legs are kept well away from the levers of power on final release. Some hope…
