THE price of urban land in Spain is on the up.

In the first quarter of 2015, the average price per square metre climbed by 5.9% to €150.

And the bigger the town, the greater the growth.

In towns with a population of 50,000 or more, the average cost per square metre has rocketed by 37% to €304.

The highest average prices, were recorded in Madrid (€546), Barcelona(€448) and the Balearic Islands (€353), while the lowest were registered in the provinces of Cáceres (€148), Pontevedra (€153) and Cantabria (€154).

  1. Just waiting for the negative comments to this report, and know doubt there will be. But before they make comments perhaps they could do their own research instead of relying on a more professional reporter for details. Nothing worse then people making abstract comments without personal substance.

  2. The average price of real estate for resale in Spain is 1,635 euros square meter, which is a variation of a (-0.1) % compared to the previous month.The interannual variation (may 2014 – may 2015) recorded a variation of – 3.8%.
    I fear you might have given the price for square feet, as opposed to metres.
