THOUSANDS of adrenaline junkies have flocked to Pamplona to celebrate the San Fermin running of the bulls festival.

Starting with a firework launched from the town hall’s balcony, the nine-day celebration is now underway.

A mass ‘wine-fight’ takes place today and the first of eight, 8am bulls runs takes place tomorrow.

The runs last under five minutes over 825 metres in the town’s narrow, winding streets.

The festival ends on July 14 with a party in the streets.
