    • Margaret, you could have watched Netflix in Spain for the last five years at least, and you can even switch between Netflix regions, such as UK/US, very easily using software costing a few euros a month. UK television also still works fine, via satellite, if you get a dish realign and a new box.

    • Kodi is amazing, but it does have a steep learning curve to install and maintain. Also, its legality is in question as it streams torrents in real time. Kodi does not have its own content. Netflix is removing a lot of its “blockbuster” film content soon as film license contracts come to an end, but its own-brand series are very good luckily.

  1. Tim, Netflix is free on a 30 day trial. The service in Spain has content in English (original version) and in Spanish. If you use a “Smart DNS” service you can change Netflix region to get UK/US and rest of world content too, so a much wider choice.

    • Thanks Fred – I’ve tried all that smart DNS stuff; and in the end, it was just too unreliable; and if you’re worried about legality of Kodi, you probably don’t want to think too hard where your $5 a month is going. I’d rather be legit, but doesn’t look like Neflix is going to solve that problem any time soon.
