Ghost townAN infamous Spanish ‘ghost town’ has started to come back to life.

El Quinon, 30 miles south of Madrid, opened in 2007 and became a desolate monument to Spain’s burst property bubble when the recession struck in 2008.

Three-bedroomed, 100m2 apartments in the complex near Sesena now cost around €100,000, up from €50,000 in 2011.

The number of residents is now 6,411, double the figure of two years ago.

  1. Passed by this ‘development’ in the middle of nowhere in 2009. Stark and desolate does’nt even begin to describe it. Makes Stalinist apartments look attractive. There is absolutely no infrastructure and no work available anywhere near – buy with confidence LOL.
