Europeans to live two years longer by 2030

EUROPEANS are set to live two years longer by the year 2030.

A new infographic by Medigo has compared life expectancy now to predicted expectancy in 2030.

The graphic shows that Europeans will have an average life expectancy of 78 by 2030.

In fact, life expectancy is expected to steadily increase across the globe, with the largest increase predicted for central and south African countries where residents are predicted to live five years longer.

The graphic based on WHO statistics (see below) has also outlined which diseases are likely to rise and fall over the next 15 years.

Diabetes is set to grow by an alarming 34%, while the number of cases of diarrhoea and HIV are expected to fall.

Prostate cancer is also due to claim 38% more lives by 2030, while cases of bladder and throat cancer are also expected to rise.

Coronary artery disease is predicted to be the biggest killer, claiming 1.9 million lives in Europe in the year 2030.

  1. This report takes not into account the progress of biological science and 3D-printing. In 2030 liver cirrhosis and kidney diseases will no more be a driver for mortality. Californian company Organovo is already selling human liver and kidney tissue being printed by 3D bio-printers to major drug companies where they are being used to test toxic side effects of new medical drugs. The clinical tests for livers and kidneys being produced by Organovo to replace sick organs of humans have already started. In 2030 everybody who has a need can replace his sick liver and kidneys by those ‘spare parts” from Organovo. Organ donation from just deceased people is no more needed. The big advantage of spare-part organs produced by Organovo is the fact, that they are grown from adult stem cells of the patient, therefor avoiding rejection effects by the immune system of the patient.
In the year 2000 a Japanese professor detected, that the molecular size of normal 2D printer ink is the same as the molecular size of ‘bio ink’ produced from human stem cells. Scientists from Organovo then constructed a 3D bioprinter which prints layers of cells one over the other like a ‘normal’ 3D printer does. After about 20 layers have been printed, this cell-torso grows by itself into the form of the organ that the stem cells predict. Shares of Organovo are a listed at NASDAQ as ONVO..
