Torre del Mar cafe owner Josh Grimshaw celebrated Trump’s astonishing surge to the White House with a boozy breakfast.

The La Tasca boss was up at four am to watch history being made in America’s bitterly divided election.

“We got the champagne flowing at about 10am to celebrate. We’re Trump supporters,” he told the Olive Press.

“I was up really early to watch it on TV. I had to. It is good news for the USA. It’s something different from the usual stuff.

“Down with the establishment!”

  1. By February Trump celebrants may discover they have elected a democrat – at least not the Tea Party or ultra conservative they had dreamed of. Trump is a media manipulator – one shouldn’t forget that Trump does what is necessary to win.

    • Several years ago Trump said that if he ran, he would run as Republican because Republican voters believe anything you tell them. As a social liberal who is a pragmatic narcissistic, it is not likely will pursue his campaign rhetoric. And the low-information members of Congress will learn this the hard way when they run for their seats in a year.

  2. This was a place that my OH and I frequently went to to support a local charity that held a monthly quiz in aid of fund raising for a local animal charity – (Axarquia Animal Rescue) not been since the new owners have taken over and now we are extremely unlikely to ever go again

    • Rajoy is a slicker version of Trump, probably even less open minded than Trump. After all Trump likes the ‘deal’ and wants to be seen as a guy who can accomplish something, whereas Rajoy is just an ideologue in the service of Franoista style corporatists. Tea Party red necks will see that Trump won’t do their state’s rights bidding, though no doubt there will be some anti-progressive moves.

      • stefanjo I hope you can understand this and it’s a true story. On one occasion I was sitting in the lounge of a Jewish friend. This friend had 3/4 large car sites scattered around London when his son entered the room. “How did your horse get on and how much did you put on the nose”, my friend asked. “Hundred quid”, he replied, “came in second”. “Ah” my friend replied, “Came in last then”. “No dad, it came in second”. My friend turned to me, shook his head and smiled. Get over it stefanjo, hope you have a roof garden.
