pjimage-7A GOVERNMENT report has warned of ‘direct threats’ to Spain issued by the sick death cult ISIS.

The Jihadi group has vowed to take revenge on the country after it cracked down on militants and made dozens of arrests last year, with more than 215 being cuffed since 2015.

According to The Daily Star, the report reveals that the terror group, which operates out of Syria and Iraq, has ramped up its campaign to hire Spanish translators, suggesting plans to attract Spanish-speaking foreign fighters.

Anti-terrorism police have also seen a worrying rise in terror videos subtitled entirely in Spanish.

Meanwhile, reports say ISIS sympathisers in Spain are being urged to ‘attack, attack, attack!’ in revenge.

It comes after terror experts said Spain is at significant risk of a Berlin-style truck attack this summer due to the surge in European and British tourists.

David Videcette, a former Met Police counter-terrorism officer who investigated the 7/7 London bombings, told The Daily Star: “It’s very possible there could be an attack in Spain.

“When you think about it Spain is one of the few countries in Europe that hasn’t had a major attack in recent years.

“These things are always bubbling away and we’re relying on the security services and the police to gather intelligence and get hold of these people.”

Mr Videcette said Spanish resorts are particularly vulnerable to a truck attacks due to their wide-open seafront promenades which have daily lorry deliveries coming and going unnoticed.

“They may well be looking to attack specific countries with tourists,” he added.

“It’s very possible Costa Brava, Costa Del Sol, those sort of places could be on someone’s target list.”

  1. Reporting this is totally out of order. even if it is true for a respected news paper. It’s bad press like this helps ISIS scare tactics and loss of tourism that hits the local economy very hard. Not very responsible reporting.

    • Let’s pretend it isn’t happening eh David? The sacred cow of tourism is more important than warning people of highly possible attacks, so they may be aware and take precautions.
After all, Brexit will cause far more damage than these barmpots.

  2. As I said in one of my earlier comments, well before the OP posting, “all it needs is some nut-case with a gun on the beach in Spain”. Wonder how badly that would affect the tourism business, Egypt and Turkey were badly hit and was one of the reason the influx of tourism increased last year in Spain… We shall wait and see as to how the Spanish government reacts to this threat, but the damage of just a threat works wonders for ISIS.
David Cashmore, better being warned then not being warned at all.

  3. So, UK and USA making sure that Spain toes the line! Frighten the masses ( even resort to murdering them!) and then impose whatever draconian laws they want to control divide and terrorise us. ISIS didn’t exist until UK and USA invented them to suit their needs. Don’t play the game. Go to the beach. Go on holiday. Their version of freedom is FEARDOM!

    • what an a load of idiotic comments you make….thats right blame the fundamentalism of these lunatics and there religion on the UK and the USA…NEVER HEARD SO MUCH TRIPE IN ALL MY LIFE….GIVE YOURSELF A PAT ON THE BACK……IDIOT

  4. Whatever happens, they will lose. The second largest expat community is Moroccan, and it’s reasonable to assume that most of them will be Muslim, and whilst I have always found Moroccans to be very tolerant, that’s because I have visited Marocco since 1972, so I know them fairly well.

The danger is that if Islamic terrorists attack here, our local Maroccan expats, who generally have fit in fairly well with the Spanish culture and traditions, could be marginalized by all those who view any non Caucasian as ‘Arabs’ or whatever derogatory term they choose to use.

This in turn can lead to our Moroccans being radicalized, which is of course the objective of the terrorists.

We must remember that Islam ruled here for 600 years, and when they were driven out, (along with our Jewish population) symbolically ‘kept their keys’ – and that in Islam ANY country they have ruled they claim for their own occupation.

The fanatics intend to reclaim Spain, or at least Andalusia and Granada, but fortunately, as long as we stop them radicalizing our youths, the terrorists will be easier to spot, because as ant expat or Spaniard knows, you can always spot the newbie on the coast.

So be vigilant, but not paranoid, watchful but not afraid and report anything suspicious without worrying about raising a false alarm.

  5. A sensible approach would be to remain vigilant at all times but don’t change your travel plans because that means they win. The Guardia Civil are trained to deal with these threats and they are heavily armed. It’s business as usual for me.

  6. Liz,
a very astute comment. Everything that has happened over more than 80 years was, at first down to the Brtish and French with their arbitrary slicing up and creating Syria and Iraq. Then the disgusting secret Balfour Treaty and then the dumping of European and American guilt onto the Palestinians.

Saddam was an evil man but it was’nt his crimes against Iraquis or Kurds that the Americans with their docile bitch Britain used to invade that country – it was resources and just look at where it lead to. all the death and destruction. ISIS will be destroyed in Syria and Iraq but not in the world as a whole
