pjimage-8MARIANO RAJOY has slammed Andalucian chief Susana Diaz while claiming the region needs ‘better leaders’.

The Spanish prime minister made the comments during a meeting with Andalucia’s Partido Popular leader Juan Manuel Moreno.

Rajoy said: “Andalucia has all it needs to be at the forefront of Spain and Europe.

“The only thing it needs are better leaders, that work for the common interest and don’t just dedicate themselves to cementing their party in power.”

Moreno, who will be running unchallenged for re-election as the region’s  PP leader,  later added that Diaz is ‘not compatible’ with her current role.

“While she dithers around, Andalucia is bleeding,” he said.

It is not yet known if Diaz will run to be head of the Junta again in 2019, as she continues to weigh up running for national leader of the PSOE.

  1. Rajoy’s government is saturated with pending, ongoing and former corruption cases and he jokes about it when questioned in session.

Diaz was secretary to two former investigated leaders of the Andalucian government. I guess she never knew anything either. They all talk all the time about their parties. There on the TV every blooming day, yet the wages continue to go down by comparison, people lose their homes, poverty increases, mass unemployment or cruddy jobs, conditions and were people are exploited, threatened, the cost of living and energy prices are ridiculous and all they do is fling mud at each other.

DISGUSTING, whilst in the bars people are more interested in chin wagging about football. The list of political corruption is breath taxingly absurd….Germany has 81+million people, 150,000 politicians, 1 politician per 554 people. Spain has 47+million people, 445+ thousand politicians, 1 politician per 106 people, every region with a government and president. The government can’t give you anything it doesn’t take from you first. They are not sustainable, not fit for purpose. No surprises Esto es España olé, my bloody country.

More like a Banana REPUBLICA, though very good at telling us how brilliant we are. Not to mention all the misuse of Euro funds TAX PAYERS MONEY. No problem as the mega rich and their banks and corporations don’t pay, todo está bien!

Everything will be fine, summer is around the corner and there’ll be loads of those great temp jobs to massage the figures, just as long as your not over 45 and male.

  3. “The Olive Press are not responsible and do not moderate individual comments before they are posted. Anyone who uses racist, sexist, homophobic or xenophobic language or hate speech will be blocked.” I guess that includes the TRUTH!

This isn’t hate speech, this is the truth and I’m a Spaniard. It never ceases to amaze me the kind of calibre of comment which is accepted in mass media and the kind that is censored. It’s been a long time since I gave up commenting due to time better employed in writing. Better to give up commenting again. It appears that freedom of speech is like freedom, an illuison.

    • Calm down Jon. The Olive Press seems to be having some difficulties in the “comments” section. Don’t believe there is anything sinister going on, but many posts don’t appear for some time, meaning many are duplicated and much frustration ensues. Hitting “post comment” often goes to a “page unavailable” type thing. I just hit the “back button” then “home” Sooner or later the post appears, usually…..
Perhaps OP could clarify the issue?

  4. Diaz and her PSOE predecessors deserve all the criticism they get. The Junta de Andalucia have failed their people for over 30 years and are at the bottom of every league table apart from unemployment and house demolitions where they rank highest. What have they actually achieved?

You don’t have to like Rajoy to agree with him but he is right on this issue, Andalucia needs far better leaders.
