Andalucia saw highest rate of foreclosures in Spain in 2016

new-homesMORE homes and farms were closed due to missed mortgage payments in Andalucia than anywhere else in Spain last year.

A total of 11,581 residential properties were foreclosed in the region during 2016, on top of more than 20,000 farms.

Valencia and Catalunya were the next worst-hit regions in both categories, according to data from the Instituto Nacional de Estadistica.

The least number of housing and farm foreclosures took place in the Basque Country, Navarra and La Rioja.

    • Not true zabaot. If the wealth was spread fairly, people would be able to afford their mortgages. Therefore true socialism could be a great ally of capitalism. The real antagonism is that of the rich minority to the struggling majority.

  1. You’ve misquoted. “A total of 11,581 residential properties were foreclosed in the region during 2016, on top of more than 20,000 farms.” No. There were a total of 20,611 foreclosures and OF THEM, 11,581 were homes.
