AN ABANDONED industrial landmark is to undergo a huge renovation.

Malaga’s former Intelhorce textile factory, built under Franco’s orders, will be turned into a distribution centre for a children’s clothing firm.

A total of €68m is to be pumped into refurbishing the 27,000m2 architecturally protected space, which has lain empty since the early 2000s.

Once complete, the company will seek final permission to construct new, interlinked buildings, which will be used for storage.

The work, due to be finished by 2019, will double the distribution capacity for firm Mayoral, which decided to embark upon the project due to rising sales.

  1. Where is the €68m coming from?
Until we find out can we have a sweepstake on how long it takes for the firm to go bust and the building sold for a pittance to politically connected developers?
