THE cost of car hire has dropped to bargain-basement rates in Malaga, among other regions in Spain.

Rental company Auto Europe analysed rates over five years in spots including Alicante, Barcelona, Nice, Palma and Tenerife, and prices have decreased in all places.

The best savings were found at Barcelona airport, where holidaymakers can rent a car from as little as €28 per day – a massive 55% less than in 2013.

UK car hire prices have also lowered, and in London, it can cost from just €15 to per day – a 22% decrease from five years ago.
