A NEW study has claimed that switching your drink to a gin and tonic can help alleviate the symptoms of hayfever.

Asthma UK says switching your tipple from darker, fermented drinks like beer or wine to spirits like vodka or gin will lower the severity of your symptoms.

The darker drinks contain more histamine and sulphites, which can trigger allergic reactions.

The likes of vodka and gin have much lower histamine levels.

Gin in particular has no sulphites, making it the optimum drink for hayfever sufferers.

  1. Poor reporting. Asthma U.K. did not propagate or instigate this report on gin. They simply investigated a claim that was flying around and treated it with the cynicism it deserves. (As anyone with half a brain would.)
If false news was worth investigating, this thing was probably got up by the Booze Barons.
