A NAKED Mallorca actor who rubbed a Spanish flag on his genitals during a performance has been blasted by politicians.

FLAG FURY: Actors naked show slammed by PP

The actor’s gesture during Scenes for a conversation after the viewing of a film by Michael Haneke ‘transcends the limits of provocation’, said a PP spokesperson.

Accusing the Teatre Principal actor of ‘insulting the vast majority of Mallorca citizens’ the party demanded action from Culture Minister Francesc Miralles.

“It carries a particular gravity since it foments controversy during these particularly delicate moments,” said the PP spokesperson, referring to Sunday’s referendum violence in Catalunya.

But Palma’s Principal Theatre claimed the actor’s movement was made during a behind-closed-doors rehearsal which was secretly recorded.

A theatre spokesperson told the Olive Press it had reported the matter to a Palma court.

“The theatre wants to provide full reassurance to artists and companies in their programming and as they carry out their work,” she said.

Theatre group El Conde de Terrafiel said it play aimed to ‘activate the imagination and the capacity to astonish’.

But the right-wing PP has accused it of ‘insulting’ the Spanish state and of ‘an attack on the democratic rights our constitution defends’.
