December weather was colder than the average in Mallorca

DECEMBER was colder than usual in Mallorca, with an average temperature of 11C according to data from Aemet.

Rainfall was normal for December, most of it in the northeast

The average December temperature is closer to 12C most years. The warmest day of the month was on December 30 with 22.6C in Pollensa, and the coldest temperature recorded was in Escorca with 3.9C on December 6.

Rainfall was in the normal range, with the northeast of Mallorca receiving the most. The strongest winds came from storm Bruno with 139kph registering in the Serra de Tramuntana on December 27.
