Estepona, Costa del Sol

A BRITISH pensioner has been arrested on the Costa del Sol for her alleged involvement in a coin investment scam.

The 71-year-old woman, from London, was arrested on a European Arrest Warrant for crimes of fraud.

She is wanted in the UK for an investment company she ran between 1993 and 1995.

She allegedly persuaded unsuspecting investors to invest in rare coins in exchange for short-term profits.

The OAP was able to rake in 2.25 million pounds sterling from investments ranging from 500 to 100,000 pounds.

The company never bought coins and investors never made a profit.

They also received false investment reports.
