COMMUNITY leaders in Valencia are demanding the withdrawal of Antoni Miro’s latest explicit art exhibition in a bid to ‘protect children’ in the city.

The famous Alicante-born artist’s series of erotic sculptures featuring couples and individuals performing sex acts are dotted around the Marina de Valencia.

But Vicente Morro of civil association the Family Forum is calling on the authorities to remove the works slamming them as ‘inappropriate’ for public spaces and in violation of laws to protect minors.

Miro said the two-dimensional steel cut-outs, which pay homage to Greek pottery, are ‘the most normal thing in the world’ and accused critics of being too ‘old fashioned’.

The sculptures are expected to remain there until the end of the year.
