Search called off for woman who fell overboard on luxury Spain cruise to Mallorca

OVERBOARD: The woman was travelling on the Norwegian Epic cruise liner

THE search for a woman ‘in pink pyjamas’ who fell overboard on a luxury Spanish cruise has been called off.

The Korean passenger went missing from the Norwegian Epic as the liner sailed between Menorca and Mallorca.

“A 63-year-old Korean female guest went overboard while the ship was sailing from Cannes, France to Palma de Mallorca.

“As soon as the report was made, the authorities were notified and a search and rescue operation ensued.

“The search has now ceased, and sadly, the guest has not been found.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the individual’s family during this difficult time,” said a Norwegian Cruise Lines spokesperson

British tourists had initially reported the missing woman was wearing ‘pink pyjamas’ when she was last spotted on board the vessel.

Alexa March, who was on the ship, said: “The staff and local authorities did everything they could in search efforts.

“My thoughts and prayers go out to this family.”
