Andalucia’s faulty tower

Torreguadiaro watchtowers

AN historic tower that once guarded the coast against pirates is in urgent need of repair.

Residents are urging action after the Torreguadiaro Torre Vigia watchtower, near Sotogrande, continued to degrade in the recent bad weather.

Local residents have complained that the 15th century building has been neglected by authorities and fear that it may collapse.

It is long overdue as it was last renovated in 1796, according to reports.
