TWO Irish gangsters could face 20 years in jail for brutally murdering a fellow Irishman at his Costa del Sol flat.

Dubliners Brian McConville, 30, and Wayne Lennon, 38, stand accused of stabbing Paul Feathers 44 times in an hour-long killing in Benalmadena.

Friends with mobsters Fat Freddie Thompson and Brian Rattigan, the pair went on the run after the attack in 2010.

Lennon was picked up on international arrest warrant in Portugal in 2011, while McConville was detained in Germany two years later.

The killing is believed to have been drug related, with Feathers’ alleged killers annoyed after losing an illegal deal.

Prosecution documents claim: “Brian Peter McConville started a row with the victim during which Wayne Alan Lennon got hold of a 10cm kitchen knife and threatened Paul with it before cutting him twice in the neck.

“Immediately afterwards both men, knowing full-well their actions could cause Paul Feathers’ death, brutally attacked him for around an hour.

“They kicked and punched him repeatedly around his head and body until he fell to the floor where they continued to attack him and caused him further injuries to his head with the knife.”

A date for the trial is yet to be set.
