MAPPED: The 3.6 magnitude earthquake had its location at Cuevas de Almanzora

ANDALUCIA has been shaken by a 3.6 magnitude earthquake today.

The epicentre of the quake was in Cuevas de Almanzora in Almeria province.

It was reported by the National Geographic Institute of Spain that the event occurred at 12:44pm this afternoon.

Earthquakes in the province are fairly common and are usually not above magnitude 4.

Local Facebook users confirmed the event, and one Emma Wild said: “Just felt it in Alfoquia.”

Another, Pamela Stannard, said: “Yep in Cucador..we were gardening and it rumbled through our plot. Hope everyone in the areas affected is safe.”
