Flat tire leads to two arrests and seizure of over 600kg mangoes in Spain’s Sevilla

SEIZED: Car filled with mangoes

TWO men have been arrested after 676 kilos of mangoes were stolen in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

In the Arahal, Sevilla, after being alerted to a suspicious vehicle, police found two individuals attempting to change the wheel of a flat tire.

The police asked for a receipt for the enormous amount of mangoes in the boot and backseat, which the suspects could not provide.

They arrested the men, impounded the car, and have temporarily stored the fruit in a nearby warehouse, where it is contained in bags.

It is thought that one of the suspects has previous convictions, including 12 robberies, some committed in the Velez-Malaga area.

The crime comes just weeks after 200 kilos of red peppers were found in the back of a car in Sevilla.
