Spain’s Andalucia registers 21 deaths and 1,071 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday

THERE have been 21 deaths caused by coronavirus in Andalucia in the past 24 hours.

The figure, released by the Junta and the Andalucia Institute of Statistics and Cartography, represents four fewer than yesterday.

Meanwhile there have been 1,071 new cases registered on Wednesday, some 165 fewer than the previous 24-hour period.

Granada saw the most deaths between Tuesday and Wednesday with nine, followed by Sevilla counting four, Malaga and Cordoba three and Cadiz two.

In terms of new cases, Sevilla registered the most with 337 detected by PCR in the past 24 hours.

It was followed by Granada with 194 cases, Cadiz 150, Jaen 148, Malaga 111, Almeria 53, Huelva 41 and Cordoba 37.

On a regional level, a total of 80 people were admitted to hospitals with coronavirus, four of whom entered intensive care units.
