Police officer killed in shootout

A POLICEMAN has been killed in a shootout after attempting to kidnap a bank manager.

The abductor – who was on indefinite leave from work – threatened the bank boss at his branch in Fuengirola last Friday.

He managed to escape after throwing away his car keys.

The officer was later tracked down to his home, where he began shooting at his former colleagues. Police returned fire and shot him dead.

His wife has been arrested for her alleged involvement in the incident.
