Help beat the benefit cheats in Spain

THE Olive Press is launching a ‘Beat the Cheats’ campaign to snare benefit cheats living in Spain.

We want to draw attention to those involved in the fraudulent activity that costs the British taxpayer’s millions every year.

Between April 2009 and March 2010, £66million was lost in fraudulent claims overseas.

The campaign is being supported by both the British embassy and police in the UK.

An Embassy spokesman said: “We encourage any attempts to support our ongoing efforts to prevent fraud.”

A spokesman for Scotland Yard added: “Good luck in your endeavours. There is plenty of it going on.”

We are now calling on Olive Press readers to bring cheats to justice.
