PSOE airport plan grounded

RAJOY’S government has decided against the privatisation of two of Spain’s main airports as planned by PSOE.

The Socialists had hoped to make €5.3 bn from the sale of Barajas airport in Madrid and El Prat in Barcelona, but had postponed the process as interested buyers were having difficulty finding the cash.

Now PP is stopping the sale, saying it does not wish to give up these assets at the ‘worse possible time’ for the country’s economy.
