Boar-ing bother in Spain

ACCIDENTS caused by wild boar crossing a busy motorway on the Costa del Sol have led to calls for the population to be controlled.

Herds of up to 25 animals have been seen crossing the AP-46 near Casabermeja, with residents fearing it could end in tragedy.

A number of the animals – which can weigh up to 70 kilos – have been hit by vehicles according to locals, despite the construction of specially designed underpasses to avoid such incidents.

  1. Has anyone shown the boars the underpasses? We keep encroaching into nature and expect her to deal with it…. we all presumably want nature around us, like trees and wild animals, and yet we then find them a nuisance when they apparently encroach our habitats? C’mon people… perhaps there are too many of us now…we need to deal with that instead.

  2. Yes the population does need to be controlled move 50% of the humans out of the Costa. I’m not a tree hugger but what gives us the right to run roughshod over every other species on the planet just for own gratification. These animals were there long before us and they are roaming as they always have done.

  3. If you are interested in seeing Iberian wild boar visit this web page “http://www.mangolink.com/general/webcams/wildlife/” we have a streaming cam that is live every night with two sows and eight piglets plus several other wild boar
