man who started costa del sol fires arrested

THE man accused of starting one of the worst fires in Malaga’s history has been arrested.

The 35-year-old who is yet to be named, was arrested on Monday in Alhaurin el Grande.

The blazes in August destroyed over 8,225 hectares, and left a German man dead.

The man was arrested after an investigation confirmed he had been negligent burning vegetable remains in Coin.

He is due to face charges of homicide and negligence.
