NEW car sales in Spain have risen again for the ninth straight month in a row, with a total of 82,483 sold in May.

There was a 16.9% increase on cars sold in May 2013, according to car manufacturers’ association Anfac.

The Government subsidy scheme, which gives buyers of new cars a rebate for their old vehicles, continues to boost sales.

Sales in the first five months of the year were up 16.3% on the same period a year ago.
